Dear Sir,
During the course of the multiple coordination meetings held on site in relation to the locations of the Contractor’s MEP provisions on the external wall of the Pods, we have highlighted the apparent randomness and lack of consistency in the location of these external provisions when applied to each type of Pod.
This inconsistency in the location of these MEP provisions render’s their installation incompatible with the factory line production process where each type of pod is typical and is mass produced as a single and repetitive module.
While we have recommended to your design teams to revise their coordination to achieve consistency in location for each type of Pod, your MEP team has confirmed during the meeting on 24 August xxx that the location of these provisions cannot be made typical and accordingly such provisions on the external Pod walls can only be done on site by your team or your subcontractors.
To allow for the installation of these MEP provisions on site, the external boarding of the Pod wall which is a subsequent activity, cannot be installed prior to delivery and will have to be similarly installed on site by the Contractor after the installation of the MEP provisions.
Accordingly, and as mutually agreed, the external boarding will be de-scoped from M/s xxx (Contractor Name) for external faces where MEP provisions will be installed on site.
Our commercial team will coordinate with you to finalize the de-scoping of these items in a time frame consistent with the project delivery.
