Planted Column

METHOD STATEMENT FOR PLANTED COLUMNS

INTRODUCTION:-

The project is Consist “Proposed B+G+1 Villa on Plot No. xxx at Jumeirah First, Dubai for

“Mr. xxx”

THE METHOD FOR PLANTED COLUMNS IS AS FOLLOWS: –

  1. Firstly, the Planted Columns will be marked by hiring of a specialize survey company

M/s. Middle East Survey Engineering LLC.

  • Upon marking of all Planted Columns over ground floor we will make adequate size of Stirups as per columns dimensions by reducing concrete cover 20mm & 30mm respectively from each face and the same will be fixed over columns marking with the help of S.S. nail to avoid any dislocating of holes during drilling process.

HOLES PREPARATION:-

Holes shall be drill up to a depth of 200mm for the marked planted Columns by using rotary percussive drill followed by water flushing.

Bar holes Dia shall be followed as per manufacturer/suppliers recommendation in attached table.

BAR PREPARATION:-

  1. All Dowel(Deformed) Bars shall be degreased any mill scale shall be removed prior to fixing.
  2. A grout mix Lock fix S80 for Vertical downward holes as per recommendation of FOSROC shall be used for fixing of Deformed/Dowel Bars.

MIXING:-

  1. A Complete pack of resin and catalysed filler should be mixed in one operation. Mixing may be carried out manually or mechanically. until a smooth, even consistency is achieved.
  2. For small quantities of grout a slow speed drill (400/500rpm) fitted with a high shear paddle is acceptable, but mixing should be restricted to one pack at a time in a container or minimum capacity 25lilers.
  3. Under no circumstances should be part packs be used, as this will change the resin: power ratio, adversely affecting material performance and automatically invalidating Fosroc’s standard product guarantee.

PLACING:-

  1. The mixed grout should be poured or pumped steadily into the prepared anchor holes. The anchor bar should be pressed into the hole to the required depth. Slight agitation of the bar will greatly assist in achieving a complete bond.
  2. The bar should be left undistributed in the required position until the grout has hardened fully.
  3. Ensure that the grout is placed within its Gel time.
