Enclosed Bus Duct Continuity and Insulation Test Report
Overview
This test report documents the continuity and insulation resistance testing of enclosed bus duct systems. These tests verify the electrical integrity and safety of the bus duct installation before energization.
Test Objectives
The primary objectives are to verify that all phase conductors have proper continuity, that insulation resistance values meet or exceed minimum requirements, and that the bus duct system is safe for energization.
Testing Procedures
- Visual inspection of all bus duct connections and joints
- Continuity test using low-resistance ohmmeter
- Insulation resistance test at 1000V DC for 1 minute
- Phase-to-phase insulation resistance measurement
- Phase-to-ground insulation resistance measurement
- Verification of proper torque on all bolted connections
- Documentation of all test readings
Acceptance Criteria
Continuity resistance shall not exceed the manufacturer’s specified values. Insulation resistance shall be minimum 1 MΩ at 1000V DC. All test results shall be documented and submitted for engineer approval before the bus duct is energized.
