1.0 SCOPE OF WORK
This Method Statement is applicable for coring in core wall
2.0 RESPONSIBILITY
Before commencement of any installation activity, the following procedures are required to be carried out.
- Before installations ensure the location will be supervised by client safety team.
- Should be aware of the sound due to coring.
- Should close the staircase to avoid the client access.
- Proceed only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.
3.0 DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Installation Procedure
- Mark out the position to be cored.
- Ensure that there is no services infront and behind the location to be cored.
- Move away or protect thing that is directly underneath the area to be cored.
- Drill and install wall anchor.
- Mount coring machine stand.
- Fix the core bit to the machine
- Adjust and center the core bit to the marked position.
- Setup water protection system at front and behind of wall if require.
- Start the coring machine.
- Turn on the water system and start coring.
- Once cored through, stop the motor and water.
- Remove drill motor bit.
- Remove cored concrete core.
- Clean up area .
Work Duration
- 6-7 Hrs
4.0 LABOUR
- Skilled technicians, in sufficient numbers, shall carry out the installation.
- The workmanship shall be maintained at all times.
- SUPERVISION ARRANGEMENTS
- A constant supervision under Foreman shall be carried out in order to control the work and the workmanship.
- EQUIPMENTS & SAFETY REQUIRED
- Hammer, drilling machine, spanner ,scaffolding and tool kit.
Requirement from the Client
- Close the header valves & main line valves to isolate the PRV.
- Supervision for the work going on inside pump room.
- ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ensure that the labour has a good working environment, a hazard free environment.
- HEALTH & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Ensure work area is clean and tidy.
- Ensure the work Area is ventilated.
- All employees shall adopt safe working practices.
