Subject : Draft Warranty Certificates
Dear Sir,
We are in receipt of your letters ref: xxx & xxx dated 2 and 12 August xxx respectively concerning the draft warranty certificates and we would like to note the following:
First, kindly note that all the warranties were submitted as per the approved O&M manual ref: xxx.
Second, with reference to Engineer’s comments received via letter ref: xxx dated 11 August xxx, please see below our point wise response:
- Comment: Sanit draft warranty shall start from TOC.
M/s xxx (Contractor Name) response: The warranties from other supplier/manufacturers is passed through M/s xxx (Contractor Name) on a back to back basis and some approved manufacturers such as SANIT initiate their warranties from delivery of their material and not from TOC and the same was also approved in previous phase 1 of PDLM project.
- Comment: RAK Ceramics draft warranty for porcelain strip tiles to be 10 years and start from TOC date.
M/s xxx (Contractor Name) response: Complied. Please see Annexure1.
- Comment: Alcaplast draft warranty is not accepted. It shall start from TOC date. In case manufacturer doesn’t provide the same UNIPOD is required to provide warranty from TOC as per specification.
M/s xxx (Contractor Name) response: Alcaplast warranty is covering a period of 25 years when installed by professional plumber. Refer to annexure2 warranty period section: “Alca plast, Products, installed by a professional plumber, are provided with an extended warranty period”.
M/s xxx (Contractor Name) are the professional plumber for this project as noted in warranty certificate section of stamp & signature of a plumber.
Therefore, the warranty coverage period required as per specification is already covered in Alcaplast warranty.
- Comment: Provided Cladtech international draft warranty for tempered glass & mirror, failure notification to be minimum 10 working days.
M/s xxx (Contractor Name) response: Complied. Please see Annexure3.
- Comment: Light fitting manufacture warranty is missing.
M/s xxx (Contractor Name) response: Please see Annexure4. Kindly note that Mahnoor Lighting warranty was already attached in previous submittal.
- Comment: Shaver socket manufacture warranty is missing.
M/s xxx (Contractor Name) response: Please see Annexure5. Kindly note that Legrand warranty was already attached in previous submittal.
- Comment: Oman cable warranty to be from date of TOC.
M/s xxx (Contractor Name) response: The warranties from other supplier/manufacturers is passed through M/s xxx (Contractor Name) on a back to back basis and some approved manufacturers such as OMAN Cable initiate their warranties from delivery of their material and not from TOC.
During the first revision of O&M, OMAN cable provided us a warranty of 1 year only which we managed to increase to 5 years from delivery. Please see Annexure6.
We are looking forward to receiving the acceptance to these 7 items draft warranties.
