Floor Epoxy

METHOD STATEMENT FOR FLOOR EPOXY SCREEDING & COATING WORKS

SURFACE PREPARATION
 Prepare the surface by grinding.
 After the grinding, clean the surface with vacuum cleaner.
 The substrate should be sound wrt – no loose or crumbling concrete; no unbounded cement particles; no previously applied toppings, sealers or paints.
 Care must be taken that the temperature of the floor and the ambient temperature should be between 16°C to 30°C to apply the Epoxy mortar system
 Do not attempt to install the material if the temperature of the components is above 85°F/30°C
APPLICATION OF EPOXY PRIMER
 Apply primer to the substrate using a quality brush or short nap roller or any other suitable means ensuring thorough penetration in the substrate to a specified Wet Film thickness and allow drying as mentioned in PDS.

APPLICATION OF EPOXY SCREED
 Mix four component material Stonclad GS and distribute to the substrate using a trowel to smooth surface of the material to required thickness (5mm).

APPLICATION OF BASECOAT
 Apply a first coat of epoxy based material, consists of two components that should be independently stirred, to ensure no carefully add Component B to Component A in the container provided. Apply the areas using, roller or brush.
 Broadcast Natural Quartz to get anti-slip finish.

APPLICATION OF TOPCOAT
 After waiting a period of at least 8 to 10 hours at 72˚F/22˚C, clean the area using an industrial vacuum cleaner.
 Apply one top coat of epoxy based material, consists of two components that should be independently stirred, to ensure no carefully add Component B to Component A in the container provided. Apply the areas using, roller or brush.
