This method statment describe the specfic safe working method which will be use by Orasccom to carry out the Drainig Piping System , it gives details of how the work will be carried out , what health and safty issues and controls are involved.
- Construction Manager:
- Assigning tasks of responsibilities to senior site engineers.
- Monitoring adherence to project schedule.
- Expeding areas of concern to best achive project schedule.
- Senior Site Engineer :
- Assigning areas of responsibilities to site engineers.
- Site Engineers :
- Assigning areas of responsibilities to foreman.
- Continuous montoring of all aspects , and follow activates and co-ordinate with another activities due to any Damage of another works.
- Inspection of any installed Drainig pipes and fittings.
- Liasing with QC Engineers regarding works progression and availabilty for hold point inspections.
- Mechanical Quality Control Engineers :
- Ongoing inspection of all aspects of the installation works.
- Informaing consultant by works inspection request as and when his presence is required to carry out inspections.
- Follow the inspected works which approved by the consultant to prevent any damage and reported it by internal site instruction .
- Sequencing.
- Shop drawings approval.
- Material approval.
- Levelling and arrange with another spaces.
- Installation pipes with its fittings.
- Testing according the project specifications.
- Construction Procedures
- 5.1 installation preparation:
- Follow the shop drawings to determine the routing, size, dimension, slop and exact location of the draining pipes.
- All Material shall be new and installed in a first class manner.
- All Draining piping unless otherwise indicated or required by code , to be pitched at a minmum rate of 1:100 in direction on flow. Branch connection to stack or main drains shall not made in manner which will permit backflow.
- All vent piping shall br arranged to drain any condensate back to waste piping.
- The open ends of the installed pipes should be closed to prevent entrance of foreign materials in the pipeline.
- 5.2 Jointing of UPVC Pipes and fittings :
- Cutting the pipes should be perpendicular to the pipe axis if pipe sludge are used.
- A chamfer should be performed with suitable tool , in such a way as to avoid damage to gasket during the jointing stage.
- The end of pipes and connection should be clean before the graft joint is made.
- For ease of shank insertion, the part to be jointed with suitable lubrication material.
- Mark depth of entry the tail of pipe into the spigot and align the mark.
- Thoroughly abrade spigot and socket bonding surface using sandpaper.
- Check the position and the condition of the rubber gasket inserted inside.
- 5.3 For underground draining pipe :
- Excavate the trench according to the trench detail shown in the drawings (Width, Depth).
- Put a suitable bedding material layer , bedding to be thoroughly compact in layers not exceeding 150mm to give uniform bed.
- Backfill the trench above the pipe in layer 300mm thick each layer well rammed with the suitable backfilling material according to the project specfication and method of statment .
- Testing
- Back fill along the pipe except above the pipe joints and fitting untill we proceed with the pipe test.
- Test of the pipe according to the project specification section 02530 Division 3.6
- Subject systems to water pressure test to prove tightness and to flow test to prove freedom from obstruction.
- Close all opening with plugs and fill system to point of overflow at highest opening.
- Vent all air and ensure that water reaches all parts of system to be tested.
- All sections to be tested to not less than 1 m head of water at highest point for at least 30 minutes.
- Inspect all joints and pipes whilst under pressure and correct leaks or detective joints by replacing with new joints and materials .
- Repeat test after corrections are made and untill systems are proven tight.
- Equipment:
- Plumber tool box.
- Welding Device and Tools.
- Personal tools.
- EEPCO UPVC fittings for draining system.
Approved Transmittal No: PKG #75&76 – MT- PL – 00043- Rev. 01
