Method of Working
Al Marwa Fiber Glass Factory required these steps for Surface Preparation, before start the
work. These steps must be done by Contractor/Owner.
GRINDING:
After concreting many irregularities on the surface remain and if lamination is
carried out on such surface finishing on the outer surface will be inferior. Hence, surface
grinding of concrete has to be done, if necessary. This removes all irregularities and the
surface becomes clean. Moreover, the grinded surface has more porosity which will ensure a
stronger bonding with Resin.
ANGLE FILLING:
After grinding, Angle should be fill. 45 oC
DUST REMOVAL:
After angle filled, concrete powder and debris accumulate and this has to
be removed as it gets entrapped between the lining and the surface. Hence, the concrete
surface is to be cleaned properly and it is ensured that no impurities are entrapped.
After complete above mention work. Al Marwa Fiber Glass LLC will start work.
Wall Sides, Bottom Side:
The following Steps will apply for GRP Lining .
 One Coat of Resin applies to the plastered (finished) wall.
 Above the first Resin coat will apply 4 Layers of Chopped Strand Mat & ISO Resin
 Above that 2 Layers of Viny lester Resin & Matt.
 Finally apply the Topcoat of Gel Coat.
