  • Axial Fans (e.g. Parking Supply & Exhaust Fans, Pressurization Fans, etc).
  • Material Procurement, Handling and Storage
  • Upon approval of the material and shop drawing submittals, Contractor shall survey the QTY including supporting system as per project schedule.
  •   Upon delivery to site, all fans shall be stored indoor, in a clean, dry and ventilated place.
  • For the lifting use a hoist crane or a fork-lift, inserting the hooks in the holes shown on the tags, using soft tissue strips, or with a fork truck.
  • Monthly, new grease must be added through the greasing point, turning the impeller by hand (about 100 turns) to avoid rusting from contact on the bearings.
  • Procedure of works
  • HAC carries out works as per approved Method Statement, drawings, etc.
  • The working area shall be protected as per risk assessment and HS&E plan.
  • The first thing you do on getting the fan is to read the manual carefully (if possible, with the fan nearby).
  • Make sure for the direction of the fans, fans data are correct.
  • Position the fan in such a way to assure a minimum space for the maintenance and repair work.
  • Silencers should be installed directly to the fans (if any).
  • For fans with inlet not ducted the distance ā€œDā€ from the wall must be higher or at least equal to the inlet diameter.
  • The foundation should, by preference, be made in reinforced concrete and its minimum weight must to be four times the weight of the rotating mass (around double the total static weight), if the fan is installed on a metallic structure, make sure that it is solid.
  • The AP fans and gravity dampers are suitable for a direct wall mounting, or with steel adaptor.
  • The foundations or support structure must be level to prevent any damaging vibrations.
  • Take the anti-vibrations support, lift up the fan and install the anti-vibrations supports.
  • Before to start the fan it is important to check that the blades pitch is the required one, in case of wrong blades pitch, call the supplier.

Before connecting the power supply cable to the fan’s connection box, check that the line voltage is the same as the one shown on the motor’s data plate.
