CONDUIT DEVICES BACK BOXES, PANEL ENCLOSURES, TRC, SPLITTER, AND PULL BOXES INSTALLATION IN BLOCK WALL

MATERIAL TO BE USED:-

Galvanized steel back boxes, 7cm x 7cm x 4.7cm depth  1.1  mm wall

thickness with Earth terminals are used for wiring devices as back boxes

Eletra make.

For panel enclosure metallic enclosures zinc coated 1,2mm thick with epoxy

painting ivory color and with required knock out is provided Merlin Gerin

make

Telephone and splitter boxes are steel fabricated 1.2mm thick epoxy painted

and with sufficient knock cuts and the panel is flush type with door and lock

(Electra make)

Conduit is Saudi EGA make sizes used are 20mm, 25mm and 32mm all are

heavy gauge PVC with high impact and high temp resistance and fire

retardant.

TOOLS USED:-

1.       Concrete cutting grinder machine

2.       Spirit level

3.       Measuring Tape

4.       Screw driver Sets

Preparations:-

The masonry wall is clean for any,, rough, surface and marking is done on the block walls according to the dimensions approved shop drawing layout and miscellaneous details for devices back boxes, panel enclosures and TTC, T.V. splitter and intercom boxes.

INSTALLATIQNS:-

1. Ensure mortar is fully set before cutting the masonry wall

2. Cutting is done carefully and neatly by concrete cutting grinder machine without cracking or causing damage to existing civil work.

3. A neat opening is cut of size to receive back boxes / enclosures and fixing plaster.

4. Back boxes are installed flush with nearby plaster guide.

5. Spirit level is used check for horizontal and vertical position of these back boxes,

6. Extension rings will be used if back boxes fixed are found not flush with finish surface.

7. Conduit m sheet metal enclosures and steel back boxes are terminated with male adopter with bushing and lock nuts.

8. Back boxes / panel enclosures are mounted as per approved height in shop drawing.

9. separate  conduits  are  used for lighting,  low current  and power

installations.

 10 It is made sure that the conduit installed connecting two outlet back

     boxes take not more than two number of bends and enter the steel

       boxes horizontally or vertically.

 ll. Clearance of 150mm for other non electric pipes and three. Times the

     diameter for adjacent electric conduit pipe is followed and preferably installed above  non-electric service pipes.

12 pull wires of 2mm dia galvanized steel wire will be installed after back boxes connecting conduits are fixed by plaster and when plaster is set.

13 All back boxes and pull boxes if used subject to approval are closed
with polystyrene material so as to protect plaster cement from entering
these boxes.                                                                       

14 Plastering is done for the embedded conduits and around back boxes neatly finishing is done so that the exposed cover plates covering recessed boxes rest neatly on wall surface without gaps and fully covering the back boxes.

15.Visual inspection is done for correct fixing and workmanship.
