Submission of external insulation for beam and column.

Subject          : Regarding our previous Ref no: xxx. submission of external insulation for beam and column.

Dear Sir,

With the reference to the above, we would to like to inform again that the external insulation on structural member with polystyrene board has been banned by the Dubai municipality under circular ref no: 812/02/02/1/1604728 and this can be replaced by using the following.

1. To install insolated thermal resistant windows and curtain walls

2. To install thermal barriers for the walls

3. To use isolated hollow block

4. To use thermal precast walls

5. To apply internal and external resistant plaster.

So, in our building point 1 & 2 are already complied and the structural member needs to treat with external plaster only. Because we cannot fix the 50mm thermal insulated block for wider area of the RCC wall. Since there is high risk of the deboning, cracks in the joints and life of the bonding glue can’t be guaranteed. 

Please advise the substitute of polystyrene board. If you have DCD approved material.
