Subject:                Re – M/s xxx (Contractor Name) factory visit- POD’s inspection

Dear Sir,

We are in receipt of your letter ref: xxx (CONTRACTOR NAME) dated 9 January M/s xxx (Contractor Name) regarding the Engineer’s observation to the first in place POD type 3 inspected on 26 December M/s xxx (Contractor Name) at M/s xxx (Contractor Name) factory.

Kindly find below our point wise response to the observations:

·         Comment#1: Side by side 300 by 600 tiles to have same shades on floor and wall.

M/s xxx (Contractor Name) response:  Noted.

·         Comment#2: Sealant application to be improved and minimized, it shall not be applied extra on adjacent material, attached photo for reference.

M/s xxx (Contractor Name) response: Sealant application will be minimized wherever possible and to the extent required to maintain performance.

·         Comment#3: The strip tile uncut material available in UNIPOD factory was not matching with approved sample in terms of finish; material in factory had very rough finish, it seemed as missing final glazing coat, furthermore, there were bubbles on the tile, the same is not accepted.

M/s xxx (Contractor Name) response:  Noted, the final glazing coat is applied to all materials.

However with regards to the bubbles (black small dots) this issue has been discussed and clarified by M/s xxx (Contractor Name) during the inspection.

The tiles are sourced from available stock with the manufacturer since a new batch of tiles cannot be produced due to the limited quantity required for the project (which does not exceed 300 sqm). Consequently M/s xxx (Contractor Name) has limited control over the occurrence of these dots in the current stock.

Nevertheless, M/s xxx (Contractor Name) will diligently sort and pre-select the current stock in an effort to minimize any black dots during the cutting of the tiles whenever applicable and maintain such occurrences in only low visibility areas.

Yours faithfully,

On behalf of M/s xxx (Contractor Name) LLC
