Subject :     Light switch, Access Panel, CDP, Electrical Junction Box and Manifold locations

Dear Sir,

As per the instructions received during site coordination meetings with your team, M/s xxx (Contractor Name) has provided the locations of the light switch back box, access panel, cold drainage pipe, electrical junction box and manifold locations based on what has been executed in previous phases of the project. This was due to the lack of pertinent MEP information. These locations have been included by M/s xxx (Contractor Name) on the final shop drawings which have been submitted and subsequently approved by the Engineer.

The approval has been given with a comment that the drawings have to be coordinated with MEP. However, till this date and we haven’t received any further comment or information from any party, neither from the Main Contractor nor from the Engineer in relation to the above location. We have also not received any further MEP information to allow us to potentially undertake additional coordination of the above item locations.

Please be advised that once production is underway, not further change can be accommodated and any change will lead to abortive works and will seriously impact the schedule of deliveries.

Accordingly, if you, your MEP team, or any of your subcontractors who have interfaces with the POD units have any objection or comment on our approved drawings, you are kindly requested to notify us on or before 20 August xxx otherwise our production line will be proceeding with the works strictly as per our approved shop drawings.

Similarly, and with reference to the meeting held on 16 August xxx in the presence of the Engineer where it was advised to remove the light switch backboxes located on the outer face of the PODs from our scope due to the ongoing coordination of adjacent areas not related to our scope we kindly request that you provide any of the following confirmations:

  1. Confirm that the location shown on the approved drawings is final, OR
  2. Provide your final and coordinated standardized location on each POD type, OR
  3. Provide instruction to descope the light switch from our scope of works

Unless such confirmation is released to us before 20 August xxx, M/s xxx (Contractor Name) will be proceeding with production on the basis of the approved POD shop drawings.

Please note that M/s xxx (Contractor Name) will not be responsible for any rejection or NCR or comments that will arise after the start of production by the Engineer/Client/Contractor due to any change in the location of the items listed above.

Any change that will be communicated to us after 20 August xxx will have a direct impact on the project schedule, and M/s xxx (Contractor Name) will hold no liability toward any resulting delay in the production or delivery of PODs. Any such delay will be on the account of Al Sahel.
