               Subject : Bathtub drain

Dear Sir,

With reference to the subject mentioned above, we would like to inform you that till date we did not receive any further communication regarding the pending bathtub drain issue, affecting PODS P02, P02M, P02.1, and P02.1M as follows:

  • On 14 May xxxx M/s xxx (Contractor Name) issued the first set of superimposed drawings of the PODs with clear requirement of where the cutouts in the slabs should be located in order to be aligned with the bathtub drain socket.
  • On 23 May xxxx, we received from BGC the site drainage coordination drawings, and we noted that the slab cut-outs shown on the BGC drawings for the bathtub drain are not aligned with the POD bathtub drain socket. We communicated the same to BGC on 27 May xxxx where we again stressed that the slab cutouts must be aligned with the bathtub drain and drain socket (A1).
  • On 27 May xxxx M/s xxx (Contractor Name) submitted the POD shop drawings that clearly showed that the location of the bathtub drain socket in the POD base is aligned with the bathtub drain. These drawings were returned approved after one month on the 23 June xxxx.
  • On 29 June xxxx, during a general technical workshop between BGC and M/s xxx (Contractor Name), M/s xxx (Contractor Name) was informed that the slab cut-outs on site were not executed at the location of the bathtub drain socket shown on the approved M/s xxx (Contractor Name) shop drawings but were misaligned by 300mm. (A2)
  • A potential solution was discussed to solve this issue using a flexible magic pipe.
  • On 27 July xxxx we attended a meeting at site in the presence of the Engineer who categorically rejected the use of a flexible pipe and requested that the slab cut-outs be aligned with the POD’s bathtub drainage.
  • Since M/s xxx (Contractor Name) does not have any solution to offer to correct the misalignment of your slab cut-outs, on 28 July xxxx we requested a clear instruction from you on how to proceed (A3).

Unless instructed otherwise, M/s xxx (Contractor Name) is proceeding based on approved shop drawings, and it is BGC’s sole responsibility to ensure that the slab cut-outs are aligned with the bathtub drain sockets marked therein.

This is for your information, record, and necessary action.

Yours faithfully,

On behalf of xxx LLC
