Dear Sir,
With reference to above, we would like to inform you that we submitted the CVI for Client’s Verbal Instruction and it must be considered under additional scope because it is a CVI and not RFI for the instruction delivered by the client and kindly note the following.
- This CVI area design OTS open to sky without any CAT ladder or access is a design issue and marked OTS but closed from all sides in drawing provided.
The provision of door and window for planned OTS in approved drawing for shaft is not contractor’s scope to design for door and window . It shall not be compaired with a removal panel ( usually secured with screws) in a frame which is usually mounted in a ceiling or wall; provides access to a concealed item that does not required frequent attention.
- If this OTS close shaft in full height must have cat ladder in design itself. This area not as concealed space or narrow shaft , it design without access in approved drawing.
- The OTS started from first floor to pool slab and closed at pool slab. So, OTS converted in to close vicinity ( confined area)
- Our MEP services must pass through this. So, called OTS no other area for Gym floor as well as other typical floor as per approved shop drawing and shaft provided by name OTS it must have a door at second floor with CAT ladder but not provisional provide in dining it is planned dedicated MEP area.
- We are disagree that we being allowed top fixpipes, fire fighting pipe, MEP services by using area called OTS/Design shaft without any door, window, CAT ladder or ventilation provision as well as lights points.
- The access door / panel for MEP services are commonly in the false ceiling or narrow shaft where we have the roding eye and the access panel in the ceiling but this big OTS starting from the floor required a mandatory door and window as well as CAT ladder and this muist have permission from Dubai Municipality and it is the issue of drawing change from the authority. If we need to follow your comment at CVI no. 16 dated 09.05.18 with the cost variance and provide us the DM approved drawing
So, your instruction required a cost variance and approved drawing from DM to provide special door in corridor lobby in 2nd level as well as window in the lobby area in level 4th , 13th and 14th along with the full height CAT ladder and platform as well as provision of the lights. It is a proper architectural door and windows which required ID approval since this is loacated in the main lobby of typical floors.
Kindly revise the drawing from DM and provide the same because this is a major opening which required DM permission.
