Delay Analysis methodology

The methodology described to demonstrate the effects of the delays ‘known as Impacted As-Planned (“IAP”).

  1. To establish the effects of the events, the Contractor has prepared a cause and effect delay analysis. A delay analysis is a process by which the events that are the subject of this submission are considered against the work to be undertaken to comply with the Baseline Schedule. By analyzing the events in this way, the effect, in terms of any causative delay, will be apparent.

  1. In matters, such as this is many recognized delay analysis methodologies exist. For this submission Impacted As-Planned (“IAP”), which is a critical path-based method (CPM is a step-by-step technique for process planning that defines critical and non-critical tasks with the goal of preventing time-frame problems and process bottlenecks) analyzing the effect of delay events by imposing them into the baseline schedule.

The IAP methodology approach basically to impose the delay events as constraints, either as logic-links or as milestones on to the planned baseline schedule
