SUSPENDED CEILING WORK

1.0 OBJECTIVE

To describe the procedure for installing suspended ceiling for the buildings under the contract no GTC.101/ED/01 Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning (EPIC) of Ras Laffan Utilization Project –Buildings and utilities and support service Phase 1-Utilities.

2.0 SCOPE

To install suspended ceilings in the buildings at Service Berth, Service Base and F.S.O Marine areas

4.0 PROCEDURE

  1. The building is weather tight
  1. The lay-in material shall be tile, plank or strips and shall be approved by QP engineer
  1. The ceiling works shall be installed within 3 mm of required level, when measured against a straight over a distance of 3 m.
  1. Gypsum board will be used for fixed type suspended ceilings unless otherwise indicated in the Drawings.
  1. Gypsum wallboard shall be as per approved thickness complying with BS 1230, having one face finished for direct decoration.
  1. “Tapped “ for smooth seamless jointing.
    1. “Beveled” for V-jointing.
    1. “Square” for stippled textured coatings, corner strip jointing or plaster.
  1. A complete setting out of the ceiling area for lines and levels have to be carried out prior to framing works. And the levels have to be approved by the QP engineer.
