1.0     SCOPE / OBJECTIVES

This Method Statement covers the installation of the Emergency Lighting System. This procedure is to define the method used to ensure that the Emergency Lighting System has been installed as per the contract requirement.

Work will be carried out only when all associated works of Main Contractor and A&P being verified that they have been completed.

4.0       HEALTH AND SAFETY HAZARDS.

Health and Safety procedure by Main Contractor and by A&P will be implemented for this job. The responsible safety officer as per A&P procedure will do a routine safety inspection.

  1. Safety Lighting.

Safety lights will be used in case of power failure ensuring the good illumination of the working area to aid evacuation if necessary.

Adequate lighting will be provided ensuring the good illumination of the working area. Task lighting, where required will consist of fluorescent and/or halogen lighting mounted on purpose built stands..

6.0     RESPONSIBILITIES / SUPERVISION

8.0           TRAINING

8.1       Tradesmen who will be used to perform the described work must have experience for the same works and be supervised by representative of the supplier/manufacturer. If deemed necessary specific teams / individuals will undergo further training by the Production / Quality Assistance Departments.

9.0           WORKING HOURS

Normal working hours: 7.00 a.m to 5.00 pm

  1. HOUSE KEEPING

A&P personnel will clear work areas of waste materials derived from their work on a daily basis ensuring a clean and healthy work environment and also to maintained free access and egress in the event of an emergency.

  1. MANPOWER REQUIREMENT & SUPERVISION

A minimum of two electricians are needed to wire and install the Fire Alarm Devices.

  1. MATERIAL REQUIRMENT

Material requirement for this activity are: Approved type Fire Rated Wire, Raw-Bolts, Emergency Lights, Exit Signs, Chain, Converter Modules, Main Emergency Control Panel, Sub Panels. 

  1. PLANT & EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
  1.    General: Drill, screwdriver, Megger, fishtape, Pliers.
    1. Personnel Protective equipment:  All personnel should wear at      all time safety shoes, helmet and coverall.
      1.  Power: Single-phase normal power where it is needed.

e. Working Platforms: Ladders and scaffoldings as required within the specific work area.
